Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
These are the simple rules for using Hatchlands, run by Boba Education ("we"). By making an account or playing, you agree to them. If a child is playing, a parent, carer or teacher should read them with the child.
Using Hatchlands
- Hatchlands is free to play and is meant for children in Years 3 to 6, played with the knowledge of a parent, carer or teacher.
- A parent or carer makes and looks after a family account. A teacher makes and looks after classes. You are responsible for what happens in your account and for keeping your sign-in email and any PINs private.
- Please give the information we ask for truthfully, and use a first name or nickname for a child, never a surname or any other personal detail.
Fair play
- Please do not try to cheat, to get into someone else's account, to overload the service, or to find a way around its checks. We may stop an account that does.
- Be kind. There is no chat in Hatchlands, and nicknames must be suitable for children. We may change a nickname that is not.
- Pets, coins and progress in the game are for fun and have no real-world value. They cannot be sold or traded.
Schools
A teacher who adds pupils confirms that their school is happy for them to use Hatchlands. A pupil's player belongs to the pupil and their family and not to the teacher or the school. A teacher can hand a pupil's player to their family with a claim code.
The service
- We work hard to keep Hatchlands running and correct, but it is provided "as it is". It may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change or stop parts of it. If we ever stop the service, we will give notice where we can.
- The game, its pictures, music and questions belong to us or are used with permission. Please do not copy them.
- If we add paid extras in the future, we will explain them clearly first, and they will never change how strong a pet is.
Your information
Our privacy notice explains what we hold and why. You can delete a child or an account at any time.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited. Otherwise, as Hatchlands is a free educational game, we are not responsible for losses that are not a foreseeable result of our failing to take reasonable care.
Changes and law
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can contact us at contact@bobaeducation.com.
